Reinventing the Physical Education Class with the Nintendo Wii…Or At Least They Should!

Apparently someone has created a 10 week workout program using Wii Sports as a way of letting people lose weight.  My first thought was….why didn’t someone think of this earlier?  Physical Education programs in middle and high schools have been incorporating Dance Dance Revolution into their programs, so why  not bring in the Wii.  The biggest calorie burner is the boxing game which after 15 minutes of gameplay results in a loss of 121 calories.  It’s competitive, fun, and students are staying in shape.  You often see students who are afraid to particpate in sports and other physical activities, but with this game they get to do both and have fun doing it.  I wish I had something like this when I was back in middle school.
