Text Messages and Culture

Reading Phaedrus’s post on text messages in the Philippines makes me wonder about how many text messages we send out in a day.  The impact that this one little feature on cell phones has had on this culture is astounding!  They even used text messages as a political tool to alert people to rallies.  In this country, the Internet has been utilized as a political tool to help candidate’s campaigns.  It would seem that over time resources have changed and in those changes new strategies have been developed. What will the future look like in terms of the impact of technology on culture?
